WhatApp statuses are a very useful tool. It allows you to update your friends with what’s new, without having to send individual messages to everyone via a broadcast list.
With statuses you can shares your images, videos, that funny meme you found online or information about your new business that you have started.
However, because almost everyone has a lot of friends and the number of available statuses to watch keep increasing, people always have to choose between which statuses to watch and which ones to skip.
In this post, we’re going to share with you 3 easy steps you can use to increase the number of people who watch your statuses.
1. Space out your posts over 1 day
WhatsApp statuses are shown in chronological order, with the newest appearing on top. Every time you post a new status update, your posts are automatically pumped up to the top of the list of everyone who watches your status….meaning more people are likely to watch it.
The trick therefore is to spread multiple posts throughout the day, so that your posts keep coming to the top of people’s list over and over again. Most people do not watch every status that comes up, and only watch the first few ones. By constantly putting your posts on top, you ensure that more people watch it.
If you have 10 different things you want to post, instead of uploading them all at once, you can spread them hours apart throughout the day. Whatsapp statuses have a lifespan of 24 hours, so that’s how long you can spread them over before the earliest posts start to disappear.
2. The Picture/Preview of your Last Post should be enticing
When people go to the “status” section of their Whatsapp, all they can see are the names of their friends and a preview of the last thing they posted:
If your friends find you interesting or know you to post interesting stuff, that should be enough to get them to click on your name to watch your status. However, let’s say maybe you have a lot of interesting friends to choose from.
One way you could get them to watch your status is by carefully selecting what your last post is; since that post is what they see as a preview image. A controversial text they would like to give their thoughts on, an interesting picture or video should do the trick.
If you don’t mind having such things on your status, a picture of a good looking woman would get a lot of guys clicking and a good looking guy would do the same for women. So long as the last post peaks people’s curiosity, they will click through your other posts to get to them.
3. Take note of Top Trending Hours
The simple fact is, there are times when people spend the most time online. This time can change based on the country and its culture, however, from 7 a.m to 9 a.m, when most people are commuting to work and 7 p.m to 9 p.m when they are commuting back home tend to have a lot of people online to pass the time.
Evenings in general (7 a.m to 11 a.m thereabouts) are a good time to post, since most people are done with the day’s work and can visit social media to relax or simply pass the time.
In any case, your viewers on Whatsapp are based on your unique personal set of friends, so it is difficult to predict how everyone’s friend will behave online.
What is certain however is that trends will appear in their status viewing habits when carefully examined. It is up to you to monitor these habits to find out on which days and within which hours more people view your statuses. You can do this by posting several times across all the days and then comparing viewership over a long period of time.
Combine all 3 Tricks
While all of these three tips should go a long way towards increasing your status views, a combination of 2 or all 3 results should give you better results. As time goes on, you’ll start to notice which ones work for you and which ones don’t; and then adjust your strategy accordingly.
