Coronavirus seems to be taking it’s toll on media organizations, as several media groups in the country keep letting go of some of their workers. It appears some of these organizations are taking this time to restructure and organize, which means letting go of some staff members.
Television and Radio personality Caroline Sampson announced on social media today that she has been let go by her former employers, Yfm, and her contract had been terminated effective immediately. She posted on her social media platforms:
Guys, Yfm has been my home for close to a decade now and we’ve had a successful working relationship. Effective immediately, my contract with Yfm has ended and I’m no longer their employee. Thank You to Yfm and everyone that has supported my career over the years. Shalom.
Earlier this week, actress and media personality Naa Ashorkor also revealed that her employment at Multimedia Group had been terminated effective immediately, which she described as “Good news and bad news”.
According to rumors, Naa was let go because of her unwillingness to host Television shows in the multimedia group, and only focus on radio. There have been many speculations for the reason for her termination, one of which is that she was not fulfilling the duties assigned to her.
